POPE ARMY AIRFIELD, N.C. — Airman 1st Class Terrence Dewberry, an electrical and environmental systems specialist with the 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, reviews C-130J Hercules maintenance procedures while wearing Mission Oriented Protective Posture gear on Green Ramp here Feb. 9, 2018, during a joint Large Package Week and Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise held Feb. 5-11. Deployed air and ground crews from Dyess and other bases supported operations throughout the exercise. Airmen in the 43d Air Mobility Operations Group at Pope provided ground support for the visiting crews as they airlifted Soldiers and equipment out of Pope Field during the exercise. Throughout the week, Air Mobility Command crews completed 173 missions, transporting more than 3,000 paratroopers and 2.8 million pounds of heavy vehicles, container delivery systems and other cargo. Airmen in the 43d AMOG here serve as the linchpin for America’s Global Response Force, connecting AMC airlift and Brigade Combat Teams of the 82nd ABN DIV, and providing operations, maintenance, Aerial Port, fuels, ground equipment and other support.
