Adm. Paul F. Zunkuft, Coast Guard commandant, honors Petty Officer 3rd Class Josh Carlsen during the Valent Hall dedication ceremony at Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi on Mar. 2, 2018. Carlsen, an aviation survival technician, was recognized for saving 68 people during the Coast Guard’s response to Hurricane Harvey. Valent Hall is named after Chief Boatswain's Mate Pablo Valent who was the recipient of the Coast Guard's Silver Lifesaving Medal following a heroic rescue on Sept. 16, 1919 of an eight-man crew during a deadly hurricane.
