A new Kuwaiti flag flies by the American flag during a ceremony on Camp Patriot, Kuwait, Feb. 22, 2018, at the end of a ceremony to replace a weathered Kuwaiti flag with a new one. The ceremony was held to honor the base personnel’s Kuwaiti partners in advance of the Kuwaiti national holidays National Day and Liberation Day, which celebrate Kuwaiti independence from Britain in 1961 and the expulsion of Iraqi troops in 1991, respectively.
