NMCB 4 is a component of the Naval Expeditionary Combat Command that provides contingency engineering and construction across Afghanistan in support of the overall mission of International Security Assistance Forces and regional combat commander requirements. NMCB 4 supports Task Force Overlord. The engineering task force, led by the 25th Naval Construction Regiment, is responsible for command and control of all construction and construction engineering in southern, southwestern and western Afghanistan.
