Retired Air Force Col. Joe Panza gives remarks before the unveiling of a monument at the 50th anniversary memorial commemoration of Lima Site 85 at Gunter Annex, Maxell Air Force Base, Alabama, March 12, 2018. The ceremony honors the men who gave their lives during the battle at Lima Site 85 in Laos during the Vietnam War. Panza was the co-pilot who helped extract the last surviving Airman from Lima Site 85. Twelve Americans went missing or lost their lives, including Chief Master Sgt. Richard L. Etchberger, who was killed during extraction. Etchberger was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in 2010 heroic actions that saved three lives at Lima 85. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt.
