A Dutch marine (left), from the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, along with sailors from Riverine Squadron 3, unties his team’s raft prior during the six kilometer amphibious march along the island of Curacao, July 5. The amphibious march consists of a jump off a cliff into the water, a four kilometer paddle in inflatable boats, followed by a two kilometer swim. Sailors from RIVRON 3 are cross-training with elements of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps and Navy for a three-week training course designed to familiarize U.S. Navy Riverines with Dutch ship to shore amphibious operations.
