A senior member of the 859th Engineer Company, Mississippi Army National Guard, instructs other Soldiers with proper techniques of smoothing out the concrete, which will soon resemble a finished concrete slab. The slab will become the concrete foundation under the gazebo. These Soldiers spent their annual training at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center’s Hohenfels Training Area, Hohenfels, Germany, building several construction projects March 11 – 31. For many of the younger Soldiers this is the first time working with concrete since their initial military occupational skill training. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. David Overson)
