PATROL BASE MEHRAJ, Helmand province, Afghanistan - Maryville, Tenn., native Lance Cpl. Dustin Summerville takes a knee to use his rifle’s optics for a close-up look at a compound in the distance. The point man with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, said he takes pride in their efforts to make the local residents’ area a safer place to live. The company alone has successfully executed in excess of 250 dismounted and mounted patrols.
