Retired Maj. Gen. Eldon Regua, former Commanding General of 75th Training Command accompanied by Maj. Gen. Garett Yee, Director of Networks, Services, and Strategy, Headquarters Department of the Army, and Brig. Gen. Shane Buzza, Deputy Commanding General, 84th Training Command presented the Congressional Gold Medal to Filipino WWII veterans, the living survivors of the Bataan Death March, & their direct descendants April 7, 2018 at the Presidio of San Francisco. The Filipino Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act (Public Law 114-265) was signed into law by President Barak Obama in Dec. 2016 recognizing the over 260,000 Filipino and Filipino-American Soldiers who bravely fought for freedom under the American Flag.
