AQABA, Jordan (April 16, 2018) A landing craft, air cushion assigned to Assault Craft Unit 4 embarks the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) after offloading vehicles in support of the bilateral military exercise Eager Lion. Iwo Jima is in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations participating in Eager Lion, a capstone training engagement that provides U.S. forces and the Jordan Armed Forces an opportunity to rehearse operating in a coalition environment and to pursue new ways to collectively address threats to regional security and improve overall maritime security.
