1st Lt. Colton Giordano, a platoon leader with 3rd Combined Arms Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, grabs the zip line trolley to execute the final task of the water confidence course during the 2018 Best Ranger Competition, April 15, at Fort Benning, Ga. The 35th Annual David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition is a three-day event consisting of challenges that test competitors' physical, mental, and technical capabilities. There were three teams that represented 3rd ID, two from 2nd ABCT and one from Task Force 1-28 Infantry. The 3rd ID was the only non-ranger unit that had more than one team finish, Irwin and 1st Lt.
