1st Lt. Andrew Irwin of 3rd Combined Arms Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division emerges from the muddy water during the Spartan race event of the 2018 Best Ranger Competition April 14, at Fort Benning, Ga. The 35th Annual David E. Grange Jr. Best Ranger Competition is a three-day event that tests competitors' physical, mental, and technical capabilities. There were three teams that represented 3rd ID, two from 2nd ABCT and one from Task Force 1-28 Infantry. The 3rd ID was the only non-ranger unit that had more than one team finish.
