Lt. Gen. Eric B. Schoomaker, U.S. Army surgeon general, spoke to soldiers in the medical community about his ten initiatives to improve the medical field at a town hall meeting hosted by the Western Regional Medical Command, July 14. One initiative Schoomaker focused on was a comprehensive behavioral health system of care. The system is meant to not only help soldiers but their families as well.
