Geoffrey Moore, commanding officer of Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, and Jon Hill, environmental protection assistant at NAS Whidbey Island, plant a dogwood tree in celebration of Earth Day on Whidbey Island. Earth Day is celebrated annually worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection, with NAS Whidbey Island creating a whole schedule of events from trash clean-up, planting trees and a dumpster dive to properly sorting trash and recyclables.
