(April 19, 2018) Chris Taylor, installation energy manager for Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, joins the Puget Sound Energy team in presenting a $490,000 check to Capt. Geoffrey Moore, commanding officer of NAS Whidbey Island, in recognition of the air station's efforts to efficiently use and save energy, coinciding with Earth Day being celebrated on Whidbey Island. Earth Day is celebrated annually worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection, with NAS Whidbey Island creating a whole schedule of events from trash clean-up, planting trees and a dumpster dive to properly sorting trash and recyclables.
