180417-N-AZ808-1255 SOUTH CHINA SEA (April 17, 2018) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97) fires its Phalanx Close-In Weapons System during a practice fire exercise. Halsey is currently underway with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group on a regularly scheduled deployment to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
