Pacific Ocean (April 20,2018) Aviation maintainers assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 71 secure a Mark 46 lightweight torpedo (MK-46) to an MH-60R helicopter aboard USS Stockdale (DDG 106) prior to an anti-submarine event during a Cruiser-Destroyer (CRUDES) Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise. Stockdale is one of three CRUDES warships from USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Carrier Strike Group (CSG) completing a CRUDES SWATT exercise. The other ships participating in the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) led exercise are USS Mobile Bay (CG 53) and USS Spruance (DDG 111). SWATT exercises are designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Amanda A.
