Lance Cpl. Cole Hawes, assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 31 of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, gives a presentation on what type of gear is carried in the field to Australian army Gen. David Hurley, chief of defense force, and Australian army Lt. Gen Ash Power, chief of joint operations, during a visit to the forward-deployed amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown. USS Germantown, commanded by Cmdr. A.D. Hull, is participating in Talisman Sabre 2011, a bilateral command post and field training exercise designed to maintain a high level of interoperability between U.S. and Australian forces.
