FORT BENNING, Ga. (May 1, 2018) – A giant novelty check for the amount of $1,392,052.41 represents the savings volunteers have provided the Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning in 2017. More than 70 Soldiers, retirees, Family members and civilians were recognized at the 2018 Volunteer Awards Ceremony at the Benning Club at Fort Benning, Georgia, April 26. Volunteer of Excellence Awards were presented to individuals who volunteered at least 500 hours and to organizations that have provided distinguished volunteer service in 2017.
