Councillor Yamada Hiroshi, Japan Diet Upper House Member, takes a picture of a memorial for Lt. Fusata Iida, a Japanese pilot who perished Dec. 7, 1941, Marine Corps Base Hawaii April 30, 2018. Yamada visited Hawaii to learn more about Marine Corps’ amphibious capabilities, the MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, the AAV-P7/A1 assault amphibious vehicle, and the logistics cooperation between the two nations.
