Soldiers at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service's Military Clothing Sales Store, look at the new Improved Physical Fitness Uniform (IPFU) for Staff Sgt. Glen Gillson in August 2000 at Fort McCoy, Wis. The IPFU was being issued to initial-entry active-duty personnel and went on sale Aug. 15, 2000, Armywide to all active-duty personnel. The black lettering and accents on the uniform had a reflective coating that appeared silver in bright light, making it easier to spot Soldiers in dark conditions. (U.S. Army photo by Rob Schuette)
