180508-N-FF029-245 SAN DIEGO (May 8, 2018) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Richard Moomey, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, mans the rails of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) during the ship’s arrival to San Diego. Bonhomme Richard, which had been forward-deployed since 2012 as the Amphibious Force 7th Fleet flagship, has completed a homeport shift and arrived to San Diego where it is scheduled to undergo upgrades to operate the F-35 Lightning II.
