When an Azerbaijani soldier’s weapon jams during a familiarization course with a U.S.-issued service rifle, Lance Cpl. Nathan E. Gibson, infantryman and native of Chickamauga, Ga., Black Sea Rotational Force 11, demonstrates the remedial-action procedures for clearing the weapon and getting back to the fight. Marines from Black Sea Rotational Force 11 trained with Azerbaijan’s Operational Capabilities and Concepts Battalion in close-quarters, combat marksmanship to build proficiency and develop interoperability in counterinsurgency and peacekeeping operations in a combined-forces environment. The Azerbaijani troops mark the fourth cycle of partner nations from the Black Sea, Balkan and Caucasus regions to train in the Babadag Training Area since April.
