On his way to the firing line, an Azerbaijani soldier receives enough ammunition for a combat marksmanship range to engage targets in close-quarter battle situations to include: shooting while pivoting, shooting-on-the-move; controlled pairs, two controlled, well-aimed shots; hammered pairs, two shots in rapid succession; and failure-to-stop drills, a shooting procedure used to neutralize a threat. Marines from Black Sea Rotational Force 11 trained with Azerbaijan’s Operational Capabilities and Concepts Battalion in close-quarters, combat marksmanship to build proficiency and develop interoperability in counterinsurgency and peacekeeping operations in a combined-forces environment. The Azerbaijani troops mark the fourth cycle of partner nations from the Black Sea, Balkan and Caucasus regions to train in the Babadag Training Area since April.
