A UH-1Y Huey helicopter assigned to the Red Dragons of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron (HMM) 268 takes off from the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island during flight operations. Makin Island is the flagship for Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 5 and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and is underway for PHIBRON-MEU Integrated Training in preparation for the ship’s first operational deployment.
