Senior Airman Jorge Henry, a joint terminal attack controller deployed to the 817th Expeditionary Air Support Operations Squadron, is presented an Air Force Combat Action Medal by Lt. Gen. David Goldfein, commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command, for actions taken during a nine-hour firefight in Afghanistan Aug. 12, 2011. Henry, deployed from the 25th Air Support Operations Squadron, Schoefield Barracks, Hawaii, also sustained a gunshot wound to the hand early in the battle and continued to call in close air support throughout the firefight.
