MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 2, 2018) Sgt. Mitchell Jackson, left, an explosive ordnance technician assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 26, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), instructs Lance Cpl. Nicholas Bennett, a machine gunner assigned to Battalion Landing Team, 26th MEU, to walk up a ramp in an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) suit during an EOD familiarization class aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) June 2, 2018. The class is designed to educate Marines about the requirements and demands of becoming an EOD technician. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
