The EOS M400 three-dimensional metal printer began operation at Production Plant Barstow May 29. It can produce unique metal parts and tools used by the artisans at the Marine Depot Maintenance Command facility as large as nearly 16 cubic inches. The green-hued window is the build chamber where lasers microweld
powdered steel, aluminum or titanium into solid metal parts or tools.
