The tails of several C-17 Globemaster III aircraft sit on the Joint Base Charleston flight line before participating in a large formation readiness exercise, May 22, 2018. Approximately 15 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, provide airdrop support for the U.S. Army's 509th Infantry Regiment, Fort Polk, Louisiana, as part of an integrated large formation readiness exercise, air dropping paratroops and critical equipment to simulate a joint forcible entry of the global response force.
