Commander David Hecht, PAO with Naval Air Forces-Atlantic, receives an autograph from Raymound Mountford. Mr. Mountford was aboard the USS Hammann, DD-412, on June 6, 1942 when she was struck by a torpedo fired from the IJN Submarine I-168. Mountford wound remain in the water for nearly six hours before being rescued, and would continue to serve throughout WWII, Korea and in Vietnam.
