BANGOR, Wash. (June 21, 2018) Electronics Technician (Navigation) 2nd Class Israel Orta, from Austin, Texas, assigned to the Gold crew of the Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Nebraska (SSBN 739), looks though the periscope in the attack center of Trident Training Facility Bangor’s Submarine Bridge Trainer (SBT). Nebraska is one of eight ballistic missile submarines stationed at Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor and recently completed a major maintenance period, including an engineered refueling overhaul, to extend the life of the submarine.
