180626-N-AF077-0034 (June 26, 2018) Seaman Amber Jordan, from Dallas, uses fire to fuse the loose ends of a stopper for a mooring line aboard the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77). Jordan is a professional apprenticeship career track (PACT) Sailor who joined the Navy with aspirations of becoming a hospital corpsman, but now is working toward becoming a boatswain's mate. She loves getting her hands dirty and is proud to take part in a job that has existed since the inception of the Navy. She joined the Navy because she has always felt a need to give back to the world. She plans to depart the Navy at the end of her enlistment and pursue a career as a doctor. Her ship is underway conducting routine training to maintain carrier readiness. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Sean Hurt)
