Military Police personnel attempt to qualify for Parris Island's Special Reaction Team on Khe Sanh Range July 11, 2018. The Special Reaction Team is comprised of military police personnel trained to give an installation commander the ability to counter a threat situation surpassing normal law enforcement capabilities. SRT must be capable of isolating a crisis scene, providing proficient marksmanship support, conducting tactical movement and building entry, and clearing building in a variety of light and weather conditions. Marines holding the MOS 1511, Military Police, may test into SRT (MOS 5816) through a series of qualifications, including skills with the rifle and pistol.
