Lt. Col. Alta Caputo, 105th Base Defense Squadron (BDS) commander, Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y., poses for a photo during the 820th Base Defense Group change of command ceremony, July 12, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The ceremony represents the formal passing of responsibility, authority and accountability of command from one officer to another. Col. Benito Barron, 820th BDG commander, who recently relinquished his duties as the Chief of the Homeland Defense and Protection Division for Headquarters United States Northern Command, will now command the 820th BDG. The 820th BDG, which trains hand-in-hand with the 105th BDS, is the Air Force’s only unit specifically designed to provide fully integrated defense operations.
