Personnel assigned to the Navy Boat Docks at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., remove the chain from an old hurricane buoy on the air station, July 10, 2018. The chains are anchored to the river bed to keep the buoys from floating away during a storm. The buoys are used during severe weather to secure naval vessels in open water to prevent the boats from being damaged during a storm. Afterward, the undamaged boats can be used to conduct recovery operations on and near the air station. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Morgan D. Collett)
