Marines from the San Diego area participate in the opening ceremony of a San Diego Padres game at Petco Park, July 15. During the ceremony poolees from Recruiting Station San Diego, Western Recruiting Region, were sworn in and begin the process of becoming a United States Marine. Poolees are the men and women who have signed up to enlist into the Marine Corps and are awaiting training.
