Poolees from the Recruiting Station San Diego, Western Recruiting Region, are recognized during the opening ceremony of a San Diego Padres game at Petco Park, July 15. During the ceremony poolees were sworn in and began the process of becoming a United States Marine. Poolees are the men and women who have signed up to enlist into the Marine Corps and are awaiting training.
