Sgt. Mitchell Pecoraro, with B Field Maintenance Company, 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division waits to pass under crossed sabers into the Corps of the Non-commissioned Officer during an induction ceremony at Contingency Operating Base Adder on the tenth anniversary of the attacks in New York City. Pecoraro listened to his uncle’s stories of the war in Afghanistan after the tragedy and enlisted in the Army as soon as he was eligible at 17 years old in 2006.
