Simms, with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division was in New York City ten years ago when the towers fell and said she felt she was honoring the death of her friends by furthering her military career.
