U.S. Army Col. (ret) Anthony Lieto, chief, governance planning, Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute, U.S. Army War College, provides academic instruction on stability operations to service members and guests from more than 15 African and European nations at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre during U.S. Army Africa's United Accord 2018, July 19, 2018, Accra, Ghana. Lieto provided instruction on one of many peacekeeping and other related topics during the four-day academic portion of the command post exercise (CPX). United Accord is an annual, combined, joint exercise between the United States, European, and Economic Community of West African States countries. The two-week exercise includes: a robust CPX, a large-scale field exercise with engineer and infantry troops, a medical readiness exercise, and a Jungle Warfare School taught by the Ghanaian armed forces.
