From left, Chief Operations Specialist Joseph Chapin, Chief Intelligence Specialist Ronald Trimnell, Chief Operations Specialist Ron Verdoza, Chief Information Systems Technician Charles Broadway, Chief Operations Specialist Aqua Clark, Chief Personnel Specialist Michelle Fortener, Chief Information Systems Technician Andrienne Charles and Chief Personnel Specialist Daniel O'Campo tribute all the United States military branches by singing their service songs during the fiscal year 2012 Chief Petty Officer pinning ceremony at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, September 16. Eight sailors received their gold anchors at Camp Lemmonier, following six weeks of challenging CPO induction. Advancement to CPO not only carries requirements of time in service, superior evaluation scores, and specialty examinations, but also carries an added requirement of peer review. Camp Lemonnier hosts the Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, under command of U.S. Africa Command, which conducts civil and non-combatant military operations in East Africa aimed to enhance partner-nation capacity, promote regional stability and dissuade potential local conflict.
