Yugen Izuka and Yuto Nakamura, two of four children arriving from The Holy Family Home, an orphanage in Osaka, Japan are greeted to celebration, cheers and greetings by Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii July 24, at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, Honolulu, Hawaii.
The children are visiting to continue a long-standing tradition between the battalion and the orphanage beginning shortly after World War II. During their two-week stay, the kids will get live with host-families from the battalion and partake in various recreational activities across Oahu, Hawaii.
