Marines tread water for four minutes as a part of the beginner-level water survival course at the Cherry Point combat pool, Sept. 13. The water survival courses replaced the traditional swim qualifications to create a more streamlined, safer and expeditionary-force-relevant water survival program, according to Marine Corps Order 1500.52D.
