180808-N-NZ491-027 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Midshipman Cole Hillard, a University of Illinois student from Monee, Illinois, asks Master-At-Arms Seaman Robert Savage, from McAllen, Texas, about how the M240B crew-served machine gun is used in the Navy’s Coastal Riverine Force. Each summer ROTC and U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen visit Navy commands around the globe during the summer training programs designed to assist the midshipmen in making informed decisions about the warfare areas in which they’ll request to serve after their commissions. Navy Expeditionary Combat Command hosts midshipmen during their summer training to expose them to the mission sets and leadership opportunities found within the Navy’s expeditionary communities.
