Iron Soldiers of the 1st Armored Division hit the mats during in a two-day division-wide combatives tournament Aug. 20-21 at Fort Bliss during Torch Week. This tournament enhanced individual combat readiness by building up each Soldiers’ personal courage, confidence, and resiliency as well as their situational responsiveness to close quarters threats in the operational environment. The event was hosted by the Iron Training Detachment. The 1st Armored Division conducts the annual Torch week event to commemorate the Division's support of Operation Torch during World War II.
