Winners of the two-day division-wide combatives tournament pose with their awards Aug 21 at Fort Bliss following the tournament as part of Torch Week. This tournament enhanced individual combat readiness by building up each Soldiers’ personal courage, confidence, and resiliency as well as their situational responsiveness to close quarters threats in the operational environment. The event was hosted by the Iron Training Detachment. The 1st Armored Division conducts the annual Torch week to celebrate the history of the organization.
