Modly, right, and Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to the United States, His Excellency Ashok Kumar Mirpuri, shake hands upon completion of a meeting. Modly expressed appreciation for Singapore's participation in this year's Rim of the Pacific Exercise and offered congratulations for an exceptional performance by the crew of the Republic of Singapore Navy's Formidable-class frigate, RSS Tenacious, during the exercise. Modly also reiterated the U.S. commitment to Singapore and stressed the critical role Southeast Asia fulfills in the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy.
