Jean-Pierre Brouillon points out landmarks to Army National Guard Soldiers at the Cote de Chatillon July 25, 2018, near Landres-et-Saint-Georges, France. On Oct. 15-16, 1918, Soldiers of the 42nd “Rainbow” Division successfully attacked German positions here that were crucial to eliminating the final strong points of the enemy line during the Meuse-Argonne Campaign. Brouillon, who owns the land where the battle took place, hosted the Soldiers for lunch and gave a private tour of the 100-year-old trenches where their units fought. National Guard Soldiers were in France July 24-31 as part of the U.S. Army’s World War I Centennial Commemoration. (Ohio National Guard photo by Sgt. 1st Class Joshua Mann)
