LOS ANGELES (Aug. 28, 2018) Quartermaster Seaman Recruit Avery Gray, a Sailor aboard the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Scout (MCM 8), uses a telescopic alidade on one of the ship’s weather decks before pulling into port for Los Angeles Fleet Week. Los Angeles Fleet Week is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard teams and experience America’s sea services. During fleet week, service members participate in various community service events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.
