Col. Stephen Sicinski, Fort Bragg garrison commander, speaks Oct. 6, 2011, at the dedication ceremony for the newly opened Randall David Shughart Elementary and Middle School located in the Linden Oaks neighborhood. Sgt. 1st Class Randall D. Shughart was killed during an operation to rescue a downed American helicopter crew in Somalia in 1993 and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
